The visit of Ayatullah Khamushi and the Iranian delegation has not only strengthened ties between Iran and the Shia community in Kenya but has also inspired a sense of unity and resilience among the local sheikhs, fostering hope for a brighter future.

In a significant gathering at Mahdi TV offices Nairobi, Hujatul Islam Mehdi Khamushi, accompanied by an Iranian delegation, engaged with over 20 prominent Kenyan Mubaligheens. The delegation was warmly received by the Chairman of Nairobi Shia Network, Sh. Ali Saidi Samoja, Vice Chairman Sh. Juma Shughuli, Head of Tabligh and Director of Mahdi TV Sh. Ali Mwega, and other distinguished figures.

The meeting commenced with introductions from local Shia sheikhs representing Nairobi, Nakuru, Narok, and Mombasa. Sh. Ali Samoja provided a historical overview of Shiism in Kenya, highlighting the challenges faced by the Shia community as marginalized. He also elaborated on the Nairobi Shia Network's efforts in uniting Shias nationwide and their initiatives, including the establishment of a fund to support Shia businesses, which garnered a generous donation of USD 2,200 from Ayatullah Khamushi.

Addressing the assembly, Hujatul Islam Khamushi drew parallels between the struggles faced by religious propagators today and those during the times of Prophets Ibrahim, Maryam, Issa, and Muhammad. He emphasized the challenges posed by forces fostering chaos in the world, particularly mentioning the West and Zionists.

Expressing concern over oppressive ideologies, Hujatul Islam Khamushi spotlighted the Iranian commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause despite facing sanctions. He urged local sheikhs to emulate Iran's resilience, encouraging solidarity through symbolic acts like wearing the Palestinian scarf and boycotting Zionist products.

Hujatul Islam Khamushi stressed the importance of knowledge, urging sheikhs to diversify their expertise beyond clerical roles. Citing Iran's technological achievements, he offered scholarships for students interested in space science or other fields of study.

During a meeting at Mahdi TV, Hujatul Islam Khamushi learned about the station's operations, staff numbers, monthly expenditure, and financial challenges. The visit also included a meeting with the Cultural Council of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, where Mr. Hamid Nazari briefed him on the council's activities and challenges.

The visit of Hujatul Islam Khamushi and the Iranian delegation has not only strengthened ties between Iran and the Shia community in Kenya but has also inspired a sense of unity and resilience among the local sheikhs, fostering hope for a brighter future.
